ABOUT US
Council Director, Heather Vihstadt
A wife and mother of two young boys, Heather Vihstadt's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in studio art from Eastern Washington University. For the past nine years her professional life has been at the Mockingbird Gallery in Bend, Oregon where she has learned numerous business skills. As a child, she loved to run and in her adolescence became involved in the track and cross country teams serving as Team Captain and being honored by her peers as "Most Inspirational." Since that time, running has become a passion and is vital to her physical, mental and spiritual well-being. After completing the Portland Marathon in 2006, she realized that achieving personal goals associated with the sport can lead to building confidence. It is for that reason that she has pursued the Girls on the Run program and is proud to implement it in Deschutes County.
